Next step in our wedding plan: Engagement of a AD photographer Guess what, we fixed our appointment of our AD photographer by just 1 visit to his studio. He's none other than Andrew Tay of The Edge Photography! You can find his web link below: http://www.thedge.com.sg/main/default.asp Sometimes I wonder if we have been haste in coming up with decisions; but I guess the first impression will always make the right choice. I remembered the 1st time we signed up for our wedding package with White Link though we didn't check out at other boutiques... now it's the same with the actual day photography, haha. How did we manage to link up with Andrew? Apparently we chanced upon some of his well-captured shots during our visit to Wei Siang's ex-colleague baby boy celebration. I requested to take a peek at his AD photographs and I must say they are really exquisite. The ways he captured the shots are in 'magazine style- photojournalistic', and at the moment when the bride and groom are kept in the dark during the photography. There are actually 2 styles in his photography: deliberate - inviting everyone for guest shots and unintentional - taking photos when everyone are immersed in the celebratory mood. His intention is grasp those shots where everyone is at ease and when the smiles and laughters are the most genuine and natural. When we visited him at his studio in Neil Road 3 weeks ago, we were struck by his friendly and unassuming personality. We also made full use of the time to go through some of the photos which he had captured for other couples, and they are also very nicely taken. He had 2 packages for selection, namely: (a) Journalistic colour + Black and white - Package A which includes: - 2 photographers - 300 shots in colour, - 250 shots in black and white - 2 albums with 4R print and CD Rom; and (b) Journalistic colour + Black and white - Package B which includes - 400 shots in mixture of colour and black and white; - 1 album with 4R print and CD Rom. We considered carefully and decided to choose the latter (Package B) as we were not sure if it's really necessary to have 2 photographers and a whole lot of photos to choose from! For both packages, unlimited photos will be captured and returned to us in the CD ROM. Somehow, most couples chose Andrew as he's very good in his candid shots. Hence the 2 photographers can be arranged such that Andrew will go for the candid shots whilst the other guy to go for the formal shots. Nonetheless, I think Andrew can do well for both candid and formal shots so we decided package B. Initially, we wanted videography for the wedding montage but decided against it after consulting Andrew. Imagine spending 1K+ just for a video! And somemore I think we will not viewing it that often as compared to flipping through photo albums right? In fact, we are considering to go for an additional coffee table album which includes 15 copies of collages. Sounds real good. We really need more $$ man! All these wedding plannings are burning a big nice hole in our pockets! HAHAHAHA (*HINT*)!
